Swix VR40 is a joy even in colder track.

Notes: Wherever possible use a soft hard wax in place of violet klister. The quality of the track will determine this. Also, consider a buffer wax such as Swix Blue Extra  with a faster wax such as Rode Super Blue over it. This trick still works -- try it.

Clean Skis will be fast.

Notes: This is static electricity territory. Old track with granular snow and normal to dry humidity will yield a static charge which attracts dirt. Dirt slows a ski like sand -- use grey moly or graphite waxes as a base to counter the problem. Keep your skis clean. Buff them with Swix Final Touch (polish) after the cool down. Keep out of the tracks around the start/finish area. They are loaded with other people's kick wax.
