A new reduced Beta profile softens the tip and a long flat wax pocket improves the grip and glide. Longer flatter wax pocket in both the Cold and the Warm. The Beta technology allows a narrow ski underfoot (42 mm) without losing torsional stiffness. That same technology allows good control and increased glide.

The grip factor is .71 to .73. Best grip is obtained by kicking off a flat foot. There may be an advantage here for the new Salomon Pilot Classic system. Ski Research Group test data will be on ernordic.com as it arrives. Feel free to submit your own data.

SRG Test Summary

General: Still a modified CB distribution. The softer tip directs more kick to the wax pocket.
Glide: Marginal increase due to soft tip.
Grip: Cold hard wax drops slightly but soft track grip goes up. Good trade off, "so says Atomic, so says SRG".
Drag: Again binding location remains critical for glide. Watch the drag on the front two inches of the wax pocket.
